Today is the first day of shooting the, as-yet-untitled, AI thriller for Netflix that I co-wrote and am directing. I can’t tell you how grateful and excited I am to be getting to do this. This movie is about some things that I think are really important. The way that our digital technology changes over the next few years is going to be shocking, I think, in certain ways and potentially really impactful on so many facets of all of our lives.
And I think one of the most important parts of making a bright future together is for us all to be talking about it more than we are. And not just, you know, the people who read the New York Times, the people in Silicon Valley, the people in Wall Street, but everybody, for everybody to be really, really talking a lot about what’s happening. And that’s why we’re making this movie, a piece of entertainment for everybody to watch.
It’s different than, you know, a white paper in academia, or a work of journalism, or even a documentary, all of which are important. But to make a really good piece of entertainment hopefully can inspire some conversations amongst a really broad swath of people that might not otherwise be talking about this tech.
And in order to do that, we have to make a good movie, a really good movie that people like watching, that’s entertaining. And I’m so lucky to have all these people here that are really good at making really good movies. And that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to make something you’re going to love. It’s going to be entertaining. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED??!!!
