Mini essay: Trump can be seen as a nostalgic idealist, constantly pushing for a return to what he views as USA's "golden age." His vision is rooted in the idea that "America" was at its best during a time of economic dominance and cultural unity, and he’s trying to restore that ideal. The problem with this kind of nostalgia-driven idealism is that it overlooks the fact that the world has changed—global economics, technology, demographics, and even cultural dynamics have evolved in ways that no longer align with that past vision. Attempting to restore a time that no longer applies to today’s circumstances can actually do more harm than good, by ignoring current realities and potentially setting us back in ways that limit innovation, inclusivity, and adaptation to the challenges of the modern world, in that way I can see why someone might compare Trump to Hitler (extreme nationalism).

Unfortunately, I feel that our President is, in many ways, just a reflection of the broader state of the U.S. right now. So many people are nostalgic for the past, dreaming of a time when things seemed simpler or better. But the reality is that the world has shifted, and instead of taking responsibility for the consequences of our actions and the state of the world today, it’s easier to point the finger at others and say, “Well, that’s because of their decisions.” We can’t go back in time; there is no magic rewind button. The focus needs to be on doing better—on accepting our current state, understanding what’s at stake, and striving to adapt and improve, rather than clinging to a past that no longer fits the world we live in. We need a vision that acknowledges the present and looks toward a future where we do better as humans. Same people saying "all lives matter," "anti-abortion," yet are happy to stand by and vote for a man who only cares about his people and his ideas, and not THE people. If you're talking about make America great again then what about establishing justice, ensuring domestic tranquility, promoting the general welfare?...Its the plastic straw effect, short term convenience long term harm, cheap, bad for the environment, but hey better than the new alternative so America loves them and will go back to them because yolo who cares about the future....
